Books On My Physical TBR That I Want To Read Soon

Like many other book lovers, I have quite a large physical TBR pile just waiting to be read. I’m really trying to not buy more books until I have read more of the books I already own. Here are the ones I want to read the most and will hopefully get to soon.

thehazelwoodThe Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

This one people either tend to love or not really like, I want to read it to see which side I fall. Plus I really love the synopsis for it, people traveling to fantasy realms is always up my alley. It has been sat on my shelves for at least 6 months now and it isn’t that long so I really to get to it.

springsnowSpring Snow by Yukio Mishima

This is the first book in a 4 part series that for some reason I keep putting off starting. Maybe because the 4th book was the last novel that Mishima wrote before he died so there’s a part of me wanting to keep it for last. Thankfully more of his work is being translated so I have more to look forward to. All 4 of these have been sat on my shelf for months now.

hotelirisHotel Iris by Yoko Ogawa

As far as I know, only 4 of Ogawa’s novellas have been translated so far, I have already read 2 of them (Revenge and The Diving Pool). I have Hotel Iris and The Housekeeper and the Professor but haven’t gotten round to reading them for whatever reason. They are really short so I have no excuse. Ogawa has a book coming out later this year called The Memory Police that I will be picking up too.

norwegianwoodNorwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami

Kafka on the shore is one of my favourite books of all time but I have yet to read arguably what Murakami is most known for. I think I’ve been putting it off because I know I won’t like it as much as Kafka but I still need to read it. Other books I already have and need to read are After Dark (which I’m reading very soon) and the 1Q84 trilogy.

spinningsilverSpinning Silver by Naomi Novik

I have yet to read a book by Novik and was gifted this beautiful hardcover as part of the Books&Tea Christmas gift exchange. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this book and want to get to it soon. If I really enjoy it I will probably pick up Uprooted as well.

themermaidThe Mermaid by Christina Henry

After reading and loving Alice + Red Queen by Christina Henry, I picked up Lost Boy and The Mermaid but have yet to read them. Lost Boy will be read soonish as it’s part of our current UK traveling book club but I want to read The Mermaid soon as well as her next book, The Girl in Red, comes out this summer.

So these are just some of the books on my physical TBR that I’d like to read ASAP but I will probably end up writing more of these posts at some point. Have you read any of these books? What’s high up on your TBR pile?
