Hyped YA Books I Have Read

Here are 5 of the most hyped YA books I have read over the years and how I felt about them, ranging from books I read 10 years ago to ones I read this year.

The Hunger Games – I started reading this series right when Mocking Jay came out and the first movie was about to come out, I ended up binge reading the trilogy as I enjoyed it so much. It’s something I’d like to re-read someday but as it stands now it is one of my favourite books.

Twilight – I read this back in 2009 as there was so much hype with the movies and I wanted to read the book before watching it. I remember enjoying it at he time and read up to half way through Breaking Dawn before giving up, it is a series I plan on re-reading someday.

Throne of Glass – This is a more recent pick up for me, after hearing so many love/hate reviews I wanted to give it a go and I ended up loving it. I’m still working my way through the series (3 books left) but I kind of don’t want it to end! I’m really excited for Maas’s adult release (Crescent City) next year.

Strange the Dreamer – Picked this one up purely because everyone seemed to love it and it sounded quite interesting. I buddy read this with a friend and we both seemed to have similar issues with it, mainly the insta-love scenes. Overall enjoyable but did not live up to the hype for me and I won’t be reading the sequel. (Minya is best girl though)

The Cruel Prince – This again was hyped up all around me and I decided to read it right before The Wicked King was released early this year, I ended up loving it and reading TWK when it came out, now the wait for Queen of Nothing!
